Twisted Motion on the Interstate. Polly Nance. Digital photograph. 8 x 10 inches, 2011.
A twist in remembered times,
bends at the light in motion.
So fast the moment;
So precious the memory.
Two kids and a fondness for choo choos
Led our family to a land we’ve evolved technologically past.
Old and new,
Yet an attachment that remains in the hearts of all generations.
Who wouldn’t want to sleep in a train car hotel room?
And explore a playground of trains?
We danced to the beat of the chugga chuggas.
And sang along to favorite tunes with our singing servers.
The moment paused.
And the moment went.
Two happy kids bawled when it was time leave.
My face did not express the same,
But my heart felt it too.
CHOO CHOO!
